I'v been trying to find a 1960's replica stratocaster and the American Vintage 1962 stratocaster is the one I want, but there is just one thing stopping me buying this one and thats the 7.5 radius.
I'v read alot about the radius and apparently when trying to bend a string on a small radius you get fret buzzes and dead notes because the string is hitting the next fret.
Also, I use high string gauges and I'v read some things that say its harder to bend the strings too. I want to know if this is all true or just things what "purists" say?

Thanks.

I own a 62 reissue and though I use .10's I don't notice anymore fret buzz than my American Deluxe. Both, however, were professionally set up by my local music store.

I was wondering about this to for awhile
I got a 57 commemorative recently which has the 7.5 radius and I can do whole note bends pretty easily
The 62 Hotrod has a big c shape neck with 9.5 radius which plays easy
Have you been able to play a Vintage 62RI to see if you like it?

No, I havn't yet. I was just worried about buying it then I get lots of dead notes and fret buzzing. I changed my mind to the Vintage Hot Rod for a while because of the radius but I wasn't sure about the thick neck(because i like to use my thumb alot). Thanks for the reply.
