Hey guys.
I recently bought a 2006 Highway One HSS and I´m very happy.
It had a matte finish but I choose to sand it (wet sanding) and polished. Its now shinny as hell and looks very good.
The next change I wood like to do is change the colour of the single coils cover and knobs from black to aged white, and I think it will be easy.
But i face a problem: I want to add a nickel cover for my humbukers, (that will be gorgeous with the bridge in the same metal) ...
but I dont know what cover fits perfectly in my humbuckers.
The humbukers are 1 Atomic Humbucking Pickup (Bridge).
Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance

The Atomic (under any of its many names...) came with covers on some guitar models. So, if you're lucky, you could find the cover offered on ebay/reverb/such. AFAIK Fender doesn't carry it as a spare part.

Or measure the pickup to be sure (my guess is any standard sized humbucker cover will fit) and get a cover from some other manufacturer.

And BTW, you may have to do more than just drop-in the cover.

I just cannot find someone how already did this...
I thought that the covers came with srew hole, in the same positions as the srew holes of the humbucker itself to attatch them to the guitar ....

Humbucker covers (generally) aren't attached via the pickup (height adjustment) screws, they're just a cup.
In addition to attaching the cover, (check youtube for instructions - I'd recommend watching all you find on humbucker covers before starting this job) you may need to fine tune the pickguard hole.
And you may experience that the sound changes with the cover on...

So, evaluate the pluses, minuses and your own skills before proceeding. Sometimes it's best to leave things as they are (if it ain't broke, don't fix it, as the wise people say...).
On the other hand, this is a perfect moment to get a new, chrome covered, humbucker if you want new sounds.

The above mentioned info is good and I have nothing to add.

In addition to changing appearance though, I suggest you also consider the difference in tone that will result from adding covers.
Some people say they can't hear a difference but I can definitely hear a difference.
Covers make the pickups muddier, all across the range but most noticeably in the detail of the lower registers.
The guitar will lose clarity, snap and definition.
The overall EQ of the guitar won't really change but much of the string character will be lost.
I just thought you should know is all.

For some people, string character is an aspect of tone they don't particularly care for and they welcome the less defined tones.
For others it's pretty darned important.

I fall into the latter and for me, I would never want covers even though I do think they look better on some guitars.
I make an effort to make my guitars as pretty as I can.
Most of my guitars have had some kind of cosmetic (usually reversible) change.
Tone takes priority over appearance though.
That's me.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Interesting post, because I have strats with, and without covers, and there is no audible difference at all. Not muddy at all. And no loss of clarity, snap, or definition.

I understand that putting a cover on humbucker affect tone. But thats the idea. 8)
IMO a HSS strat with a covered humbucker looks very nice. Besides that, the advantage of having a HSS strat is be able to get different tones shapes. Knowing that a lot of guitarrists uses other types of guitars (with covered humbuckers) I want to be able to replicate that type of sound.
For clean crisp strat sound I got the two other pickups.

So can anyone help me knowing what is the best metal cover for 2006 Hw1 hambuckers?

The Atomic DH-1 was offered with metal covers in the past. Often used in the neck position on certain hot-rodded Teles. No longer available.
