To me the biggest difference is that the new ones have a much meatier trem block. Also, they have different headstock stickers -- I much prefer the look of the older logo personally, but others really like on the new ones that the "made in Mexico" moved to the back of the headstock. The overall quality of these guitars has only increased over time, but the old ones are still very well made instruments with nice necks. All major hardware (pickups, tuners, bridge, switchgear) has not had any dramatic differences, I believe...

The latest incarnation of MiMs employs pau ferro as a second fretboard material in addition to maple.

The main reason for the switch is a CITES regulation prohibiting the use of rosewood.
