Hi Folks,
Yesterday I got it from Amazon India. Its black w/ maple FB. I got it for $538 though in India these retail at $700 plus. Now, its a bargain but I have 4 minor observations.
1. The middle pick up pole piece is not as high as it should be. (Please see the link below for picture)
2. The E and B strings are off to left side from neck pup pole pieces.
3. the Higher frets are brownish and not shining like lower frets, though they are smooth while playing.
Serial # suggests its 2016 model, as it starts with MX16 XXXXXX. I registered it on fender website. S/N was valid.

Please refer to these pictures.

I was not expecting these issues in a MIM. My question is do people notice these issues often in MIMs ? I am worried about middle pick up pole piece's short height. I feel little drop in output. Or should I ignore it?

Cheers, Slash

The 2016, partly shining/partly brown frets and the sunken pickup pole seem to hint the guitar has been played - so is it a used instrument or a display guitar from a store?

Anyways, the frets and the neck alignment would be fixed with a proper setup. Guitars sent from the factory are not set up - sometimes apparently not even tested at the factory. And since you ask these questions, I suggest you leave the setup to a good pro.
It might be possible to fix the pickup pole, too. I never recommend it, but on some pickups the pole pieces can be moved. But before that, check the warranty coverage with the seller and with Fender.

On those pics, I don't make any conclusions on if the guitar is legit. So, just a reminder: a serial number alone is never a guarantee that a guitar is legit.

Next time, please post pics on the forum. Many members don't click on outside links at all.
