I just picked up my new Strat today, and it's all fantastic, except for the tremelo arm. It doesn't fit snugly into the slot, does 360s at every opportunity and falls out. It seems to be too small? Anyone else found this? Is this normal?
Thanks, Martin.

The two most obvious things that come to mind:
- You haven't popped the pop-in trem arm in properly, or
- The guitar's trem arm isn't adjusted properly.

The latter leads to who set up the guitar, and does he/she/it know how to do it properly?
If you DIY'd and are used to screw-in trems, here's a page which explains the system: stratcat on pop-in trems
And a note: it may be you don't need the clip fix described on that page, just adjusting the screws.

Oh, and congratulations on the new family member.

Is this the new model with the pop in whammy?
If so it is like the deluxe style.
The arm gets driven in and is held by the sring clip unless that clip is broken or bent. The block has allen screws to adjust tension.
There is plenty of info on the forum about this so try a search. :D

Thanks for the info. Armed with this I firmly but gently put some pressure of the arm and it popped into place. I was hesitant to try and force it before. Clip must be just a bit stiff. Thanks again for your help. :-)

There should be a screw right behind the hole for the Tremolo Arm, you can adjust that with an allen wrench.
