There's no way to be 100% certain that a used Strat is 100% original because the parts are just too easily changed out.

You'd need to see a bunch of pictures of the guitar parts to determine if anything looks changed. Even if parts appear to be the correct vintage, you can't be sure those are the parts that the guitar left the factory with.

Sorry, but for what you ve seen in this pictures, you can say the pickg and the pickups arent American? Please, i know is not posible to certify that with a pic, but, perhaps with a little bit o knowledge, (for me, i dont know much, im not an expert, i have a Usa Kramer Pacer, i dont know about fender stuff, its impossible)

Please look at the pic of the bottom of the neck and the pic of downside of the pickg and tell me if they look american...

Thanks a lot

Original! What kinda gig you planning on doing, going on Antiques Roadshow in fifty years? You say original: how does the '72-'74 Squier Strat fit in? It was advertised as a retro, budget model, but was built on the same old Fender production line from the '60-'64. That makes it more of a Strat for me, just like my Jimi, than a same year Californian.

You say its a tricky squier... Ok thanks!

Really i dont know much. I saw the pics and i didnt know how to realize if it was a real one.

Perhaps if you can tell me tips to recognize one, that ll be helpfull.

I wanna know about the top of the neck´s date how is written and the body´s date too. The checksum of the pickguard.

If you can link me some photos... to compare

Thank again!

Amigo: authenticating guitars is a complex science unto itself. The details whichm and how they are verified are too numerous to mention in a short narrative.

Until you become more sophisticated in these matters I would suggest that you do business with a reputable dealer and leave the internet (e.g. Ebay) to the pros.

Welcome and good luck.

Doc

here's some pics, the black strat is the squier and the sunburst is the fender, notice on the squier that the switch tip and the knobs are more pointed than the fender, similar to the guitar that you are looking at. look at the difference in the saddles too. the squier has saddles like the strat you are looking at.
