I'm trying to decide on my next purchase. I'm leaning heavily towards the MIM 50s Strat or the deluxe Roadhouse. Both are priced the same. I guess my question is what's up w the rotary option on the Roadhouse and what are the pros and cons of each model? I like the idea of the noiseless pickups on the Roadhouse but kind of lean towards the 50s in other regards. Any input is greatly appreciated!

The Classic Series 50's Strat is sort of a remake of the vintage instruments.
The Classic Player 50's is sort of a slightly modernized interpretation of that.

The Deluxe Roadhouse is equipped with S1/active electronics multipurpose wiring, and has a 12" radius.

It's really hard to compare those (two about vintages/one shredder..?), so I'd suggest testing.

Personally, I don't like the preamp-sounds of the Roadhouse Strat. Did you consider buying a Deluxe Strat? It has the Vintage Noiseless PUs, that sound very good, and you can switch together the bridge- and the neck-PU or all tree PUs. Very neat. I bought one some time ago and I'm very happy with it.

I usually lurk, but followed up on a very similar question this past weekend, so I hope I can help. The background is that I'm an EVH player who got into surf rock, so I wanted a reasonably priced "surfy-looking" Strat. I played the CP 50s and Roadhouse. My trip was more about hearing the pickups (because my amps get dirty very quickly) and checking out the colors, but my main takeaway was the difference in the necks.

CP 50s: sounds amazing...the pickups are super clean and the guitar feels solid. Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about the pickups. Wow. Unfortunately, I found the lacquer neck to be uncomfortable for my style.

Roadhouse: the pickups were good...it's hard to describe, but I actually liked the CP 50s better. They sounded more "genuine," if that makes sense. In the short time I was at the store, I couldn't really figure out the V6 switch, but that's going to depend a lot on your amp, anyway. The satin finish neck was a LOT more comfortable for me.

The bottom line for me is that I'm probably going to go with an American Special...if I don't like the pickups, I'll switch them for the CP 50s and their unique wiring.

I lean heavily towards the vintage side, so Classic 50s is the only choice in my book. And being the proud new owner of one, I can absolutely recommend it. See my NGD post elsewhere.
