Hello, I bought a 2015 American Standard HSS Start 2 months ago , I bought it because I loved the way it sounded. My question is , now that I am a bit more aware of gear and tones, I would love to get the best out of Shawbucker humbucking pickup in the bridge position but I don't know exactly how because the stats I knew all had SSS so this humbucker in the bridge position in a start is new to my ears, what would you suggest to get the best out of it ?

In addition, this question is for users of this guitar, will there be a imbalance between Shawbucker hum bucker and Fat 50's??

Has the guitar been set up? If not, I suggest letting a pro do the 'initial setup for a new guitar'.

One part of that process is adjusting pickup heights, so the sound and pickup balance are optimized.

The Shawbucker is a low output humbucking pickup (similar to the majority of the original PAF pickups Gibson made in the late '50s).
It's been voiced to work well with single coil pickups of modest output.

You're not going to get a massive increase in volume switching to the Shawbucker, and tonally is should sit well with the single coils.

I understood orhunbaris already has the Shawbucker; Fender had the "American Standard Stratocaster® HSS Shawbucker™" 011-3110/3112 on the 2015 menu.

Haven't played a Shawbucker Strat, so can't comment on the pup balance. Usually humbuckers differ from single coils, and usually that difference can be turned from nuisance to pleasurable with a setup.

I have owned one now for about a year. Keep in mind the single coils have 250k pots and the shawbucker 500k. There is a small volume increase on mine when going to the shawbucker in the bridge. I find the bridge a little thin/ trebly ( just to my ears, others may disagree) so I find myself turning the tone knob down quite a bit. Nice guitar though! Fat 50's are awesome.

There are two types of shawbuckers, 1 for the bridge and 2 for the neck. Shawbucker 1 has a slightly hotter output as far as I can tell.

Each pickup is recognizable from their zebra bobbins.
