This is a stupid question but does having a neck with rolled edges give the neck a different feel? I tend to use my thumb a lot and i was wondering if it's easier to stretch your thumb over rolled edges...
I know it's a stupid question and I could just go to a guitar shop and try it out with different guitars but I can never really differentiate between neck backshapes and I don't wanna accidently try it on a guitar with a 'v' neck shape and be convinced that I should roll the edges of my neck, only to find out that it wasn't the rolled edges making a difference, it was the neck shape. Any answers or suggestions or pros and cons will be much appreciated!

Do you thumb fret more than just the E string? If so, it can help.
I regularly thumb fret two bass strings, and once in a great while all three. Two of my guitars have rolled edges and I think it helps.

The only downside to rolled edges that I can think of is that the fret ends need to be filed accordingly, and that means less fret for bending towards the edge.

Thanks, I only really fret one string with my thumb as my hand isn't big enough to reach the others yet.
