Is there any way to assure getting a "first 500"?
I wonder how much of that first "golden 500" Fender could sell out just to members of this Forum?
Cheers - C

Just an aside:....most authors will sign their work. First, I find that the publication seems to be hard to come by. Those interested in researching the matter might contact the publisher and ask about ordering a 'signed copy' of the book. I would be surprised if this could not be accomplished.

If anyone choosed to pursue this please keep us posted.

Ceri>>>I think this was produced on your side of the pond. Perhaps you can look into it further.

Unde laus tibi sit qui es sonus laudus. "Praise be to you who is the sound of praise." From the lyrics to a well-known (!!!) chart hit by Hildegarde of Bingham.

Actually, I was trying to turn Shine on You Crazy Diamond into Latin but there seems to be something irregular about adamas and I just didn't dare to commit it to a post, for fear of making an even bigger fool of myself.

We've got into trouble with this before, Doc: shall we leave off right there (please)? Especially in the light of DNA's demand for accessible English on the Forum?

On the other thing. So happens my wife is in publishing, both sides of the pond: it is very common for people to write in asking for signed copies, but these days equally common to receive back a mere sticky label, so signed. Which, were it for me, somehow just doesn't fulfill the spirit of the thing...

Cheers - C

By the way, everyone: is it a problem at my end, or does the Fender server seem to be running painfully slowly, just at this moment?

It's been down on this side as well.
On the matter of signed copies, I am not having any difficulties with Kevin Anderson and Brian Herbert who are continuing with Frank Herbert's great work 'Dune". I don't want to get off the track but use this simply to illustrate the possibility. I would be interested in knowing if Taylor's publisher would make signed copies available on request. As you probably know, they are signed over the author's name on the title page.

Phil Taylor is presumably my side of the Atlantic much of the time. But the publisher of the book is Hal Leonard Corporation of Milwaukee, WI. They have a contact page:

http://www.halleonard.com/contact.jsp

Could ask them about signed copies. Alternatively, I could go and hang around Gilmour's recording studio on his boat in West London and see if Phil Taylor comes past - but on the whole I'd love to be excused that duty, if I may...

Slightly more seriously, the publisher will know if there are any book signings planned. Nothing mentioned on their website, but I see they have an office in New York, Doc...

G'night - C

I don't know if anyone has mention the pricing on the 2 DG models but I made some inquiries and came up with the following
1. DG Nos model = $ 3,900.00
2. DG Relic model = $4,700.00
plus some change and taxes

Details available at http://www.wildwoodguitars.com/ - they indicated that they will be getting 100 of each (NOS and Relic) from the first run of the guitars.

A little too rich for me - but it does look really nice :P

Deja vu all over again.

I saw those prices and went *gulp.* That sure will make the Gilmour fans happy! Or something.

I would bet that, after all that hype and excitement, there is no joy in Mudville tonight. Man, just go back over the record of the threads of the past six months and look at all those posts.

The guy laughing all the way to the bank is the owner of that great "Jack Daniels" guitar...because he loves it, just the way it is, at a fraction of the cost.

Remember the CS' slogan................."When you're ready."

Now the guy laughing all the way to the bank in this, is the owner of that fine looking "Jack Daniels" guitar...because he loves it, just the way it is, at a fraction of the cost.
