I know , I'm an impulsive buyer. :( But I always wanted a twin reverb but since researching I would have made different purchases! The TR RI is a great amp for clean Fender sounds but I will have to add some more!

You can research yourself to death and still not come up with all the goodies. EC's website will give you details on all the stage equipment.

(Now the Cornell Eric Clapton 80, for example, goes for about $5K US, has volume, bass, and treble and that's it. )

What we don't know is how these babies are set up and balanced. I suggest you experiment and find a mix that suits your soul and go for it.

the best sounding amps usually have less controls, less to cloud the natural output of the amp. the absolute best sounding amp i heard was a 70's park with everything disconnected including the standby switch, just the volume control left operational. The power transformer had been disconnected and 2 12v car batteries in their place. The guy claimed it gave a smoother power flow where a/c transormers vary in power output.
I dont know how he did it or if theres any creedence to the car battery idea but it certainly sounded incredible.

Or Brian May's vastly modded AC30s. Again, just the volume knob remaining. What a sound that man gets!

There was a Brian May Signature AC30 available with that setup - and I didn't go for that one for a whole long list of reasons. Then again, I was tempted to ask for that DigiTech Red Special pedal as a novelty toy last Christmas - but in the end I just couldn't bear to be such a fake.

PS, By the way, F: your signature line was grammatical and perfectly acceptable without the opening "And". Nothing wrong with quoting just part of a Beatles line. Don't be brow-beaten.

Just trying to keep the peace so to speak. No reason to give him something else to complain about, although I think he was running out of things to critize. So I complied with his wishes. I must live up to my signature 8) I was taught not to start a sentence with the word "and"

A friend of mine is a amp designer for carlsbro, he told me to set a marshall amp flat its bass treble on 0 and mid on max. that gives the flat response of the amp. It sounds horrible, i bet its just something to do with the way eq sections cloud tones.

How interesting! One in the morning in our part of the world: my neighbours would really not thank me for powering my kitten up right now to see how that sounds - but I will give it a try some time. Sounds like the kind of thing we briefly did as kids trying to figure out how gear worked - and quickly moved on from. Weird!

I have noticed that many websites are starting to take orders on the DG Strat. Christmas comes early!

Funny. I just sold a PRS Custom 22 for the same reason. I had wanted a PRS for years then when I finally bought one, I couldn't enjoy playing 'cause I was afraid I was going to damage it in some way.

I have a question to make you. When fender release the black strat, this guitar will have the same price in europe or maybe will be some change?

Mmm, good question. In the UK I'm currently finding prices along the lines of £2399 for the NOS, £2899 for the Relic. For example:

http://www.andertons.co.uk/acatalog/inf ... 68806.html

and

http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/productde ... 0117442029

Obviously, those are pre-issue prices. But then Sigs don't tend to drop in price once they hit the street as much as ordinary Fenders do. Those prices are distinctly above US. Most of the difference is shipping and European import duty - but not all.

250 of the first "golden" 500 are headed for the European market. Maybe prices will calm down a bit after that. Let's see...

Cheers - C
