Hey everybody,

As I somehow broke my old fender acoustic guitar (It cracks from thermal expansion) I decide to give a try to electric guitar.

I found this fender stratocaster and make a deal to buy it for 300 euros.

My questions would be:

* IS IT REAL?
* IS IT WORTH THAT MONEY?
* SHOULD I RATHER BUY SOME OTHER GUITAR (NEW\USED?)

Other options for 250 euros are (NEW): Parallaxe PXM100C or Washburn N2 Nuno Bettencourt

I hope you can help me because I terribly need it.

Probably.

Only you can make that decision.

Looks like the real deal, and a decent player's guitar.

Given that the prices are higher in Europe, the price seems good. Just make sure that none of the frets are worn down to the point it needs a refret (move the strings aside and look at the frets), that all three pickups work, the tuners work, and that there are no rattles.
And change that knob that sticks out like a sore thumb. :)

A blind man could spot that five hundred meters away at night through the densest London fog!

And Steve Vai puts day-glo pink and green knobs and pup covers on some of his.
Thankfully, most of us aren't Joe Bonamassa or Steve Vai, and we have the freedom to pick aesthetics over maintaining an established image.

There's also less pressure when playing. Nobody expects Arth to sound like Bonamassa, nor do people rush for autographs (one person so far!). I'm very thankful for that. Sometimes I feel a bit sorry for the Big Guys, who can't just sit down at the bar and enjoy the ambience when not playing, and who can't just pick up a cheap guitar they like, but have to maintain images and endorsement contracts. I am envious of their chops, but not everything that goes around it.
