Looking pretty damn sweet so far to me.

What finish have you used and will you be clear coating it?

Satin finish for that aged look. clear satin to protect the seafoam green, 800 grit and then 2000 grit to give it a little sheen. Also, ordered a loaded pickguard with texas specials and all new pots and switch, bone nut, brass trem block, and Kluson vintage tuners. I will still be using my more aged pick guard, as I think it looks stellar on the seafoam green. pics to come, but I'm going to let the paint fully cure until all the parts arrive.

ok, I ditched the relic idea and wanted to try and refinish my strat with some seafoam green. I hope this gets better opinions. I spent a lot of time on this refinish and wanted a vintage vibe with a nice finish. I also have ordered Kluson vintage tuners and a brass block as well. I hope it gets better love. Here is a sneak peek.

Lovely - one of my favourite finishes! Can't beat the old colours, in my opinion. Is it nitro?

Cheers - Peter.

Not nitro, unfortunately this is a very carefully executed rattlecan job. Luckily the primer is mixed in the base coat, so if it wears, I won't have a gray or white primer underneath.
Here is the paint used. Working great so far! Just have to wet sand with 800 between coats and it has no flaws.

The Krylon Cylon!

Still, it's a fine looking job that instills a sense of pride and accomplishment.

I'm really eager to see the completed guitar!

And you wont have to wait 3 weeks before you can cut it and buff it.

Yeh. That polyester is a real pain isn't it. Mine is the same. If only it had been nitro.

Trust me, your amp can't tell the difference.
