2003 MIM Classic Series Vintage Player 50's Strat, but with some cool features; American Vintage bridge, traditional pup routes ( no swimming pool!), 9-1/2" radius, and more. The thing is, I don't see these listed in catalogs. Image

Very cool looking guitar Skydog! 8)

Sounds like you are combining 3 different models names though. :?

There is a "Classic Player 50s", a "Classic Series 50s", but no models as you've titled yours.

I know it seems that way, but this is what Fender told me: The serial number MZ303XXXX is in our database as a Fender Classic Series Vintage Player 50's Strat in Olympic White made in July of 2003.

A rose by any other name ...

Still, a very cool guitar. I bet it feels/plays/sounds great.

A google search for that model name only shows classic series, classic players, and even a 60th ann one that looks a lot like yours but with two post bridge and gold hardware. Not even one example with that name. Odd. :?

There should be a "limited edition J W Black" sticker on the headstock.
They were part of a Classic Series 50s and 60s FSR in 4 colors, total run 1000 so 250 of each.
Came with modified Texas Specials and staggered Gotoh tuners along with the US Vintage trem.

Congrats, real nice and quite rare.
This guitar could be described as the 'missing link' between the Classic Series and Classic Player (2006-). There's an ongoing other topic about those & whatnut.

Lite Sonic Blue, Aztec Gold, Olympic White... what was the fourth color? (I don't have the 2003 Frontline - scans, anyone?)

Shoreline Gold.
The 50s were Olympic and Shoreline, 60s Sonic and Aztec. The 50s in Gold were a sort of reverse color scheme to the Olympic white like the OP's guitar.

Thanks for that, 64Galaxie - I really like to know everything everything.

Dug up the little info the net provides; seems the Aztec Gold of 2003 was with gold hardware. "Tårta på tårta" as the Swedes say, damn them.

Thanks for looking it up, but while somewhat similar, that's not the same guitar. The Fender code for mine is Model Number: 013-2902-(305). As only 250 were made I'm betting they weren't even included in Frontline.
