Fender tells me this was prob a 62 reissue made between 82 -98.

In which case something isn't right as the guitar in the latest photos is a '57 not a '62. Either Fender is wrong or the guitar has aquired a different numbered neck plate.

The guitar looks nice (much nicer than the eBay wreckic) but a disparity on the Serial Number would make me uneasy and could knock the value considerably.

That said, Fender seems to have no clue what it is or when the guitar was made so it could all be fine. If the price was right and it felt good I think it would be good to go.

The details do seem consistent with a '57 re-issue from the late '80s or early '90s era. The incorrect 12th-fret dot spacing was a hallmark of those instruments.
