Thanks to those who helped me last week with my questions about where to get the trem springs. I recieved them yesterday and installed them today as well as gave both of them a full set up. Anyways thanks again.

Word!

Okay so did you adjust your bridge for string height?

I had a 91 MIA standard (RIP  )that I put the extra springs in, and I don't remember if I adjust ed the bridge or not.

Now I have a 06 HWY1 that I did the same. Now I'm about to adjust them.

I'll try to post some pics.

When you get a new (MIM) Strat does it come with 3 or 5 springs? I know also when you that the block that the springs attach to according to Fender's recommendations that there should be only a 3/16" gap between the the block and the cutout of the guitar.

Pretty sure, (there might be a few exceptions) that all the new Fender guitars with trems only come with 3 springs. Haven't seen any that come stock with 5, but as I said, there could be exceptions.

Yes I did a whole setup that included, truss rod adjustment, saddle height, intonation, and everything else. The bridge was flat against the body before the addition of 2 more springs so there was not much of an adjustment needed.

I think all MIM strats come with 3 springs. They have 5 hooks though. The Mayer, SRV, and other strats have 5 springs stock. As far as the 3/16" thing, I don't exactly follow you. I set both guitars up to the specs that Fender uses and reccomends.

On this website in a PDF I looked up the instruction manual for the trem block and it says all depending on what string guage you use the tension on the strings and tremelo will change and they show that on the back of the guitar (when the plate is removed) that there should be a 3/16" gap between the block where the springs hook on and the cutout of the guitar to put even balance of tension on the spings and strings all according to what string guage you are using.
