Does anyone know when they started making the HH standard mim Strat with the chrome and black humbuckers? The one I ordered says its a 2001, and I hoping it's not that old. I am not talking about the classic player HH.

So you posted the same question twice...
Well, the lacking/late answers are probably because your post(s) had the 'new member lag'.

But anyways, a) don't order things online if a1) you're not sure you like them or a2) the seller has a trustworthy return policy, and b) the serial number can usually help determine a guitar's age (unless there is reason to suspect faking and other malice & ill will).

On that specific guitar, the product registration serial number search brings back this result:
Quote:
Standard Stratocaster® HH
Serial #: MX15(the rest omitted)
Brand: Fender
Product Category: Guitars
Product Type: Stratocaster®

You should be glad.
2001 was a great year for Fender guitars.
That general period (late 90's, early 2000's) was possibly the highlight of the last 30 years.
Their QC was dialled in really tight.
Better than now.
Fit and finish were at an all time high.
They had a better colour selection than they do now.
They actually had some different models too.
Not like today where everything is the same.
Lately it seems if they put a different colour of wire to the bridge pup it's suddenly a whole new model.
I don't even bother trying to keep up any more.
2001 was great.
Don't sweat it at all.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
