Ok so I have ordered a Fender Strat HH from GC. It's black and has the humbuckers with 1 silver bobbin on each humbucker. It is not a classic player with the silver humbucker covers. Anyway what year did they start making the one I ordered? GC says it's a 2001 which is older than I thought it was. I am trying to figure out if they made them back in 2001 doesn't sound right to me. Again I ordered a Fender Standard Strat HH that comes only in a black or white color option. I do not have the serial number the guitar is being shipped to me.

Here is a link to the one I am getting.

Did they make these back in 2001?

In 2001 such a Stratocaster was known as the "Double Fat Strat", available with a standard trem bridge or a locking Floyd Rose. Available in black or Arctic White.

My guess is that the current model appeared in 2015
The Mexican Standard Strat HH with uncovered humbuckers was introduced in 2006.
It disappeared soon after and was replaced in 2011 by the Blacktop HH with covered humbuckers.
The Blacktop was replaced in 2015 by the 'new' Mexican Standard Stratocaster HH with black/chrome, uncovered humbuckers.
The black guitar at Sweetwater shows a serial number starting MX15

A MIM Deluxe Double Fat Strat (Arjay's suggestion) from 2000ish would have uncovered pickups (part number 0050945000 and 0050955000), but they should be all black. Note that a MIM Dlx of those days would have the 'normal' neck joint, so it could easily be mixed up with a Standard.

Anyway, this question was asked twice ( viewtopic.php?f=6&t=106839 ), and the OP has not been active since those.

And, I'm a bit confused of the "MX15/Sweetwater link" and "2001/no serial known/Guitarcenter" mentions, they seem to describe different guitars...
