Is a 1995 MIM Strat considered a squire? SOme of the info I see online states that since these are made in Mexico they are considered Squires. My head stock never head the squire series decal. So i'm not sure what model strat I have.

Thanks

If the headstock decal reads "Fender", it's a Fender.

If it reads "Squier", it's a Squier.

'Nuff said.

Just because someone on the Internet says it is so - assuming it isn't the Fender site, in which case the wealth of experience means it is so.

Fenders factory in Mexico makes some very nice Strats. In some cases nicer than some made in America. Nicer and more expensive.

MIM Fenders and MiM Squiers are very different beasts with appropriately different price tags.

early-mid '90s Fender Strats made in Mexico are very good guitars. I love mine.

You can also use the serial number to find out more about your strat.

Thanks for all the info guys.

I didn't think mine was considered a squire but I was just trying to confirm from what some were talking about online. I dig my MIM Strat.

Is it a black label "Fender" Stratocaster with a small "Squier Series" logo on the ball of the headstock? I believe that these are essentially Squiers and likely have cheaper hardware (check the tuners).

THanks for the link.. I'm certain mine is just a Strat MIM in 1995 and not a squire. I purchased this from the original owner about 10 years ago. There was never a "Squire Series" label. My interested was mostly to understand is all strats that were MIM were considered squires and now I know that they are not. I will post pictures when I get a chance.
