any1 know how i can get this done?

i'd rather they make it instead of me buying a regular strat and them changing it from there.

does the fender custom shop accomodate orders like this? or do i have to look elsewhere?

of course i'll pay whatever

i just want to replicate a hendrix strat soo bad...

and a note to fender

make an american vintage 69' strat OR make the american vintage 57' in olympic white and maple neck

Contact your local Authorized Fender Dealer and have them contact the Fender Custom Shop to see if it can be done and the price.

You've got a few options. If you're willing to pay the custom shop to do it, then all of the following are within your range.

Option 1, keep an eye out on ebay for an actual Hendrix Voodoo strat on ebay. This is what I did and I don't regret it. They made them in 1997 as an actual Hendrix signature model and they're exactly what your asking for. They've since been discontinued so they will cost you a bit, but it's well worth it. This is my white strat on the left.

The one on your right would represent your second option. Piece the strat together yourself. This is a strat I just finished. I took the body of a Limited Edition Cypress Mica John Mayer sig strat, and had Warmoth build me a reverse headstock neck. I opted not to do the reverse bridge angle pickup on this one. Although if I wanted to do it, I could have just custom ordered the reverse angle pickguard from Warmoth as well.

Third option, Fender is now producing a MIM reverse headstock strat. It looks a lot like my Voodoo strat but it's going to differ a lot from the original voodoo strats, but it's a pretty good deal. It has different pickups than the Voodoo strat, a smaller neck radius, vintage frets instead of medium jumbo, the pickguard on the white ones in 1 ply instead of 3-ply, and it has a skunk stripe on the back of the neck. Still a cool strat:

Now, your last option is to contact the custom shop. They could do it, and it would take a lonnnngg time and cost you a lot of money.

Hope that helped.

***EDIT: Discovered your option 3 has been discontinued as well. If that's the most practical for you, you could probably find one somewhere. I say piece it together yourself. I had a great time with my last project strat.

Another option is to just go the Full Hendrix Route.

Buy yourself a lefthanded strat, flip around the nut, and move the strap button ... VOILA!

Then you'll have the full Hendrix experience of playing an upside-down strat.

Hello Jimihendrixisgod,

Fender has discontinued the reversed
headstock model but nice pre-owned
one can be had for between $400--$500

Best of luck on your quest.

Cheers.
