I posted a question a week or so ago about the weird sound from the unwound G string. Even when the tuner showed it to be in tune it was louder than the other strings and over-toned. Sounded horrible.

Well, I replaced the unwound G from a set of 009s it was a 016 with a 018 wound G. It sounds great and problem solved. Technically, I believe the wound G should be .008 - .010 smaller than the D string. That would be a .014 to .016 wound G. I could only find a .018. Anyway, it sounds good to me.

BTW. I checked the set up and changed somethings myself for the first time. No big deal if you take your time and are careful with the measurements.
