Question 1) Anybody know what the suffix to the MIJ ST57 Strats mean ?
Does it describe an era, or neck profile or what ?

E.g. You get the following made
ST57-53
ST57-55
ST57-65
ST57-110
ST57-115
and so forth ...

Question 2) Anyone know of a complete list of all the suffix made ?

When the suffixes are written like that, it tells the original price class in ¥ (yen).
For an ST57-55, the price tag would be 55000¥, for an ST57-110 (naturally) 110000¥. Different parts, finishes and so on - not very different from Fender's AmSpecial/Standard/Deluxe modeling and pricing.

Some suffixes are different. For example, ST57-TX tells it has Texas Special pickups, ST57-US has "US Vintage Single Coils".

I've never seen a comprehensive list of even Japanese ST/TL etc. models, let alone their suffixes.
But a hint: if you see EXTRAD stamped on a legit MIJ body, that's the pot.of.gold@theendoftherain.bow...

Thanks jmathis. I am looking for big neck strats as i cannot play thin necks, i noticed that some of these suffixes have thin and other fatter necks, but i was hoping for a suffix to generally relate to different neck profiles. Seemingly not.

Ow, rednev, you could just have asked about fat Japanese neck profiles...

Try to find an ST54, they have a V-profile with some nice chunkiness.
If you find a ST54-LS, catch it as fast as you can - it's actually an Eric Clapton Signature, but Fender Japan didn't (have the permission to) call it that...

your information is way too good .. thanks a lot!!
Tried to send you a private message to thank you but somehow not allowed.
Anyway I appreciate it.

For the Clapton, it seems the later ones have less of a V. Probably the first ones that are right on the money.

I wish it was that simple. As i mentioned i have american 1983 57 reissue and it is the most miniscule fender neck i have, real disappointing and for what i need ... junk, that is why i rather look for japanese 57 fenders as they have way fatter necks.
The problem is that some mij 57s have fat necks other thinner. I spent more than a year now cataloging neck thicknesses sellers send me, but there seem to be not much correlation between year made, suffix and neck thickness. Since i have to buy from japan there are serious communication obstacles, so it is difficult to find and make sure what i buy is what i get. Really dont know why fender USA dont makevtheir 57 54 avris to follow the real thing accurately. It is in my opinion serious misleading advertising. I got burnt with my fender american 57 ri, never again. At least the mij strats are way closer to the real thing.

The MIJ/CIJ '54 re-issues have a pretty chunky neck. And the higher-grade editions feature an ash body. You might explore that possibility.
