Hi guys, i'm from Brazil and just started to learn guitar play, so i'm not experient in the area and i need some help.
i earned a guitar from my dad years ago and recently i started to search about that guitar and i am really in doubts about it. :?
I really don't know if it is a real Fender or a Fake Fender and i need some help to know it because if it is a real Fender i'm going to invest some money and keep it to me, but, if it is a Fake Fender i really don't know what to do. :(

I have never seen a Fender like that, and the 12th fret dot spacing looks off.

There was an odd period in the early 90's when Strats and Jazz basses were made in Brazil by Giannini.
Fender logo, model name and "Southern Cross" where it usually says "Original Contour Body".

This is not one of those, and there's no info on any other legit Fenders from Brazil.
So: fake.
BTW, the headstock logo doesn't even say "Fender", it says 7ender... 8)

It's not a real Fender, but it's been well-played... sure sounded good in someone's opinion...

Indeed so. I think it looks superbly cool and my inverted snobbery streak likes it a great deal.

Being so well played it has every chance of being a good guitar. What it says on the head stock is irrelevant if you bond with it.

Actual age cant be faked and can introduce a mellowness which only comes with age. I have an acoustic I bought 40 years ago. It wasn't anything special when I bought it but now it is a really great guitar.

If the neck is straight and well fitted to the body and the fret spacing is sound (unlikely to be a problem based on the amount of play) I would say it is worth a bit of sensitive renovation. "Sensitive" being the operative word. It has beauty and relevance in its age and character. If you muck that up (respray it etc.) then it just becomes another fake Strat.

Yes, agreed on 'fake'. Personally I think it looks like it says "Tender" on the headstock. But ... as was inferred to previously ... "fake" does not always equate to "bad".
