So, I haven't been able to find any tips on how to wire this for a strat so, I need some help figuring this out (I am a beginner in this realm, so I apologize for my lack of knowledge)

So, the Wiring for the original Volume Pot looked like this:
Image

The black (ground I believe) is from the output jack and the black wire from the tone Pot are solder together on the Volume on the bottom right, the white (lead I think) from the output jack is on the middle switch (I think that's what it's called) and the black wire from the pickup selector is on the left switch. The pickup ground wires are also soldered to the Pot on the upper middle.

Now, the format for the Shadow Kill Pot looks like this:

It has three switches along the top

But the bottom is all black plastic with two switches near the top of the Kill Pot.

So, I don't know if I should follow the original Wiring format (with no idea where to put the pickup ground wires, the ground output jack wire, and the tone wire) or if it's completely different wiring. I've looked on YoutTube and looked for diagrams for this specific Wiring and I can't seem to find anything. Anything would help. Thanks!

Assuming it is nothing more than a switch on the back of the pot, and accepting it is April 1st, you could just interupt the wire to the output jack.

I'm absolutely not a wiring guru, (to the point that I understood nothing on John's reply above...) and I have never used this kill pot, but as far as understand it:

The potentiometer side: This stays exactly as it was before - you just need to find new places to solder the grounds to, since the bottom of the pot is now 'covered' with that switch. (Fender's age old habit of soldering grouds to pot bottoms instead of star grounding - love it or starground...)

The switch side: Jumper the wire from the 5way switch to pot onwards to the kill switch eyelet on the same side (this gives the kill switch its hot signal).
Jumper the other eyelet to other grounds (this gives the kill switch its... guess what).

Or just email angrily at the manufacturer and ask for a Strat specific diagram.

There is plenty of info out there re the best method which is..
Wire the pot as normal.
Take a wire from the middle lug of the vol control to one side of the switch (the bit on the plastic) and a black earth wire to the other side.
As mentioned grounding the lug and pot case etc is a bit more of a hassle with the plastic bottom on the pot .. you may end up melting the plastic.
If you are looking to use it as an effect it is easier with a std switch rather than a pot switch which is a bit more awkward to operate.
Your guitar could do with a tidy up solder connection wise and some type of shielding on the pickguard. :D

Sorry about that. It seemed such a bizarre thing to want (why not just turn down the volume?) that I thought it was an April fool.

My point was; it is just a switch fixed to the back of a conventional pot. So, if you want to cut off the signal, wire up the pot conventionally but put the wire that goes to the output jack via the switch. Open the switch and it disconnects the wire going to the tip of the jack .'. no signal. I haven't tried it and admit it might create an unholy earth buzz. I'm not sure that it would, but audio circuits are strange and seem to use non logic.

I apologise that I thought this was a wind up. I had just been watching:-
