Hi!

I have problem with neck on my new Fender Stratocaster. I bought Fender Classic '60 Made in Japan - new. Everything was great, because the guitar sound is awesome, but when I wanted to adjusting truss rod because the action is a little too high and bridge saddle was already set low. Relief over the 8th fret is quite large. I loosened the griffin to make it a little bit straight, because the factory neck was a - boat. And now - because I do not know if it's supposed to be, or something is not good. I put the screwdriver into the truss rod and the screw was full to the right, strongly tight, but on the neck all the time is relief. It is impossible to move it even more to tighten and straighten the neck. On the contrary, as I unscrew or in the sense loose the tension rod, the screw immediately becomes loose truss rod and at the unscrewing does not put total resistance. I can easily twist and pull out of the neck.

It is not possible to straighten the neck because the truss ro is tightened very tight, and despite this, there is still relief at the 8th fret :( Can I suspect that the truss rod is broken and can not straighten the neck?

Hey there, you say it's new, this does not sound like normal truss rod behavior. I would take it back to the shop where you purchased it and tell them it's not acceptable for normal playing to have a neck setup like this on a new guitar, can they please adjust it, as you feel a little worried and don't want to do any damage. Maybe don't confuse them with further information that you tried to adjust it.
OR you could take it to a guitar repairer and let them assess the neck, they will advise if something is wrong with adjusting the truss rod.
Should be a great neck to play, with that meatier original 'C' shape. Good luck friend

I totally agree with the previous answer, take it to a pro for the 'initial setup for a new guitar'.

To keep the guitar in perfect setup in the future, study the setup procedure. String height is not adjusted with the truss rod.

Straightening a bowed neck with the truss rod adjust, does indeed lower the string height.

And if you have no experience with truss rod adjustment.

A broken truss rod will turn loose, it is not your. Neck may need to see a Neck Jig Workstation.

C'mon dude I know that :)

I set the strings action on saddles but it's just about a control truss rod that does not work as it should be work. Its maximum tightening should be manifested in that after checking the clearance above the 8th fret, the relief will not be because the string will down on the threshold. A properly functioning truss rod should flip the neck in the opposite direction. Here the truss rod is tightened all over, and yet the relief is still big. If I want to loosen truss rod this screw it gets very loose, left and right and can easily be twisted.

Probably the wood on the neck was not working properly. This can be fixed, but too expensive operation. Today I sent back the guitar to the store.

Thanks!
