Ever heard of the Buzz Feiten Tuning System?
I have heard claims this is a more exact intonated system.
Anyone have this on their strat or guitar?
Any feedback is appreciated... Thanks

Hi.It's me again. The buzz feiten system is a way of helping to tune your guitar in perfect intonation. It uses some sort of software to set up your saddles and a there is a special nut that has to be put on your guitar.IT DOESN'T KEEP YOUR GUITAR IN TUNE !!! If you got problems staying in tune this is not your solution. This is something for the really good "ears".It makes your guitar have the perfect pitch all over the neck, in all the frets.I played once with a guitar that had a buzz feiten system on, and it was like playing a very very very well setup guitar.

This page will help on the general tuning issues:

http://soundlogic-usa.com/c20.html

And visiting www.buzzfeiten.com will find you further explanation - better than I can regurgitate it.

I've seen Buzz Feiten himself playing in a small club: he's pretty hot! And I guess he knows his theory...

Cheers - C

Thanks petros_antoniou & Ceri,
I understand this is more 4 intonation & not 4 "Staying in tune".
Is there anyone u know that uses it or swears by it?

My friend is a certified installer of those and loves them. However, if you have a good guitar that is intonated properly and stays in tune well, you might not notice much of a difference playing live with it, especially rock. You "may" notice a difference in the studio though when music is critiqued much more and every note and nuance is magnified and listened to over and over again.

I supposed if I had that, and got used to it, I'd appreciate it and like it. But my current guitars are set up to stay in tune very well, and I keep them intonated just fine, so I've never had any tuning issues where I'd want to consider something like this.

I have always wondered if this setup was BS or not. I've never been able to find a picture of what is done to your guitar. Checked out your link bss, and There are no pics of the setup, just diagrams. I want to see it for real, not diagrams. Here's a little tech article from Ed Romans Las Vegas Guitars, still no pics

An alternative approach is to use the Earvana nut.

It requires some mods to your guitar, however.

In this opinion, the system is for folks with truly great pitch-memory and sensitivity there to. 'HAd a few pro-set up and the tech, though their place does the BF System, has not otrightly recommended it.

This picker is completely happy with a thoroughly well-set up, quality guitar.

I do like the idea of extremely exact intonation...
Then again its an electric guitar not a synth...
