I know the guy has lots of vintage 60s Strats. I was wondering if he uses the original (i'm guessing relatively low output) pickups or swaps them out for others. Does anyone know?

From what I have read on the web Mick owns something like 150 guitars...
In the image below he is holding his "new" '63 strat as they put it...
I am unsure if it is a relic® strat or not...

You can click the image above to see the site where i found it.
It seems to me that Mick is not using just one main axe so its hard to say.

Also, I have a Pro Tools system that I use...
They have a plugin that I own called Eleven... (amp emulation)
All the guitar work on the new motley crue album was done with Eleven®
Read about it here.

I saw him play live last night at Cruefest outside of San Antonio, Texas (yes, during Hurricane Dolly). He played only two guitars the whole night. Both were H-S-H Fender Stratocasters with a Floyd Rose. The main one he used was white with a maple fingerboard, a dark pickguard and was very beat up. The other one was black with a rosewood fingerboard, and also a dark pickguard (he used this one on one, maybe two, songs).

I'll be honest... Over the years, I was not his biggest fan. But seeing him live a couple of times has changed my mind drastically. He really has a nice subtle feel for his unique playing style, always plays very 'contained' and within himself, and he does a lot rhythmically. Also, his trem use is top notch, for sure...
