Yes it is. It is a MIM Standard...but that crack from the neck pocket to upper horn would make me run the other direction.

+1000

Like an Olympic sprinter running the 440 relay who's been told that the baton he'll be handed is contaminated with live Ebola virus.

I wouldn't bother - that's NOT a lacquer crack! Unless you're just buying for parts...?

Cheers - Peter.

And what had a strong enough force to cause that big crack might have caused other damage that you can't see. There could be a bent truss rod, or a crack in the neck under the fretboard that won't manifest for another year or two.
The market is full of electric guitars for sale, and a large portion of them are Strats. You can afford to be picky and walk away, because new chances will come up all the time. You can feel sorry for the three-legged dog at the pound, but a guitar isn't alive and won't appreciate it if you take it home.

Frequent on MIM Strat, paint too thick.
This does not alter the game.

Nothing to do with the thickness of the paint.

That instrument was abused/misused.

I would only put value on that body if it were signed by an artist, and in that shape it would be a wall hanging. Like Peter suggested, useful for parts. It could become a partscaster project with a replacement body. However, generally speaking, there's no savings (and often more cost), and little if any value for a partscaster other than the satisfaction of having made a one-off.

Once sand one to see him
