Hi all,

Could you please help identify my Fender? I have contacted support of US Fender and Japan Fender, but both of them said they don't know.

I have just got a 2nd hand Made-in-Japan Fender Stratocaster from my friend as a gift. I would really like to know the model of it. It has a serial number on the bottom on the neck saying JD12016806. You may find the pictures from this link: http://imgur.com/a/appvP Could you kindly help me to identify it?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
Eric

The red in your pics looks a bit more opaque, but otherwise this one fits:
Fender Japan ST62-ASH MH TRR

Way nice instrument, that "2nd hand-made-in-Japan" of yours...

There should be a model stamp in the neck pocket if you ever take the neck off.

Seems Fender & Fender Japan aren't very keen on helping customers with Japanese instruments... A 2012 should be quite easy to recognize. (Pondering what would be an appropriate insult for that behaviour...)

+1

A very premium instrument indeed!

I love Japanese fenders, usually so much more interesting than what the other factories put out. I have an early '80's MIJ 62 custom tele, it is totally and utterly sublime in every way.
