So I wanted to try some SCN's, found a loaded pickguard from the 2005' era AmDelux's that comes with S1 wiring. I figured since it's already wired up, I'll keep the S1 switch. The only problem I have with strats is that when I play, my hand usually hits the volume knob, so I always end up moving the volume knob to the tone pot position and rewire my strats to master tone and master volume. I know how to do this with a normal 5way and 3 way switchs, but NOT with the super switch.

Here's the schematics for this wiring as it currently is, factory stock, https://p4.zdassets.com/hc/theme_assets ... A_SISD.pdf

My question is, how do I rewire it for a master tone? I'm going to use the no load pot that is currently wired up as the bridge/middle pickup tone, so I'll be adding a new .022 cap, though in the future I might try out the greasebucket circuit, if I get around to a radioshack.

R emove the white wire for the neck tone and add a jumper on the switch on the lower right second to last terminal on the fiveway leading to the second tone control. :D

If that's the underlying problem, there are pots with shafts that only engage if the knob is pushed in when turned. These shafts have a "crown" joint with a spring keeping them apart.
Rewiring will just move the problem from volume to tone. But given that you have already done it on other guitars and are used to it, perhaps it's for the best for you anyhow. So I'm only mentioning it in case someone else finds this thread in the future, looking for a solution to accidental volume changes.

Thank you, and I would add a cap on the middle lug of the tone pot which get's soldered to the back of said tone pot? After I remove the white wire and the jumper for the current neck tone, the upper right group of 5 terminals should all be empty and not used right?

Is there a difference between having the tone pot connected to all 5 terminals of the lower right super switch group, and having the tone pot wired directly to the volume pot's input lug, like on a Telecaster's wiring?

I'll look into that for a 2012 HSH hardtail that I have. Thanks!
