Hello

I'm looking for some help on the next topic. When I unmounted my Mark Knopfler Strat, I unfortunately damaged a capacitor and I can not find an equivalent on the net to replace it

I think it is a Mylar ICMSR 104K 250 V S 950. Do you have a supplier or a website to replace this part?

Thank you for your help: D

104 = 10 followed by 0000 in pF (100000pF) = 100 nF = 0.1 uF
250 V is the voltage, any value of about 50 or higher is fine for a guitar capacitor, some use 600v caps.

The brand is usually not important but the shape is usually a good indicator that your buying the same type.

Mylar is a polyester variant.

Sprague orange drops are usually used by Fender.

If you're aiming for originality, the Fender part number for that cap is 0021022000 (or 002-1022-000); sold e.g. on guitarpartsresource.com;

I'm not an electronics wizard so I have no idea on why the last three digits are different (your 950 vs gpr's 943).

Sprague no longer exists.
Trade marked Orange Drops are made by Cornell Dubilier. The standard Fender caps marked IC are made by Illinois Capacitor.

Fender have a chart hidden in FMICassets database.

The part number for the Knopfler cap is 002-1022-001

Thanks for the correction. I should have said vintage Fender used Sprague. The brand however does live on w/ new ownership.
