It's actually a vinyl decal in gold lettering. The exact placement of the decal is really hit or miss, but as long as you're careful not to leave bubbles or wrinkles, you'll usually get the desired effect. The body is a M.I.J. 08' 57' Re-Issue in Trans. Honey Blond with original hardware. The pickguard is a Fender three-ply brown tortoiseshell with SCN pups. I bought a Fender matching cavity cover. The neck plate and tuners are Fender "F" style. The neck is licensed by Fender (forget the name) in tinted maple with rosewood fretboard. The tortoiseshell pick on the headstock was an old one I had lying around. I measured and drilled a hole in it and fit it over one of the chrome bushings. I like to give each of my guitars a little "flourish"... each is removable without damage to the finish.

You made your own decal and put it on yourself? Isn't that illegal?

BSS... SWEET lookin' Strat. I love the top... especially without the pickguard!

I think Fender should offer more models like this and maybe get away from using them to cover the eclectronics, leaving more of a nice clean looking top like yours. WOW, she's gorgeous, man.

Oh, and by the way fhopkins, I've been a frickin' evil guitar builder for twenty frickin' years now...

Seriously though, every part on this baby is genuine Fender (except for the neck which is licensed by Fender). I didn't manufacture the decal I just stuck it on the headstock. If Fender wants to sue me that's ok by me. Maybe they could give me my dream job (let me work in there custom shop), and they can take $50 a week out of my pay til' it's paid off.
