Hi All,

Quick question trouble shooting my Start(s).
I have two JB custom shop stats. Both have the two point, non-threaded trem bar bridge and both have the ball bearing nut.

When I use the bar to go a little more than half way down (more of a dive bomb) the G string will go sharp when the bar is returned to neutral. This happens on both guitars one more notable than the other. The one that is more prominent is tuned to 440. The other is tuned down a half step.

Both are running two springs with 9.5 - 46 strings. I've tried adding a spring and putting a little graphite on the nut and bridge saddle for the G string to no avail. All of the other strings return to proper pitch. The bridge is floating at a point that allows for about one tone up on the G string when pulled to the stop.

Blocking the bridge of pulling it back to the stop is not an option for me and I don't think that would fix it in any case.

Has anyone experienced this and if so was there a resolution?

Thanks

Every-single-non-locking guitar I've had has this issue.

Frankly, on my murican deluxe, I replaced that nut with a new one and it's better. On non-roller versions, nut-sauce helps.

I've given up. Either I do whammy on locking-nut guitars or it's simply gentle vibrato.

+1

Put a dab on the ears of the string tree as well.

For roller nuts, powdered graphite is a great lubricant.

This might help.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Video from DM is very good, but he forget to tell how to adjust the bridge itself, the height from the body. Thank's to BMW-KTM
As he said, it may take couple hours to set up the first time.

The 2 points pivot bridge; never screw pivot with string tension on , you'll ruin the bridge knife edge and bridge will not work well with tremolo bar
