While not wishing to delve into politics, particularly sitting the other side of The Pond, do I assume MiM's will be going up in price? This has got to be a right pain for Fender.

There's a rumour going around that they're going to build a Wall of Sound on that border. So, there may be a forthcoming shortage of Marshall Amps.

MIM Fenders for their part might even get a discount for us living in alien countries.

I wouldn't worry about any *shortage* of MIM guitars. If production were to be completely shut down, there are enough in the supply pipeline right now to fulfill the demand for two or three years.

LOL @ jmattis ... wall of sound.

I expect the Donald will be going through a pretty steep learning curve right about now while he goes through the process of discovering government isn't actually a business.
He's not the CEO of a company who can snap his fingers and watch his employees either fall in line or get fired for insubordination.

This may be true but the fact of the matter is, government often *thinks* it's a business and passes out too many dividends to its undeserving "shareholders".

Is he capable of such?

Back to the original thought. If Fender split off the MiM facility and created Fender Mexico then perhaps those of us in the rest of the World would then get cheaper MiM's if Fender Mexico guitars are shipped direct?

I'm just wondering how long it will be before he says he didn't actually mean a physical wall, it was actually just meant to be a metaphor.

You'd regard the matter of the wall far less flippantly if, like me, you lived about twelve kilometers from the Mexican border. Perhaps if Wales were Syria or Iran......

It isn't a matter of flippancy as much as practicality. I am struggling to consider any modern land bordered country that has a physical wall along its entire border.

I appreciate that it might be good to do something, not because it is easy but because it is difficult, but...

Yep.
Lots of folks love to talk about how government is really just a business.
It's not.
If anything, it's a committee.
A committee made up of catty gossips and pooh-pooing whisperers.
It's like the PTA from hell.
It's supposed to be a committee of a benevolent organization but that doesn't happen either.
Like Arjay said, the only benefactors are themselves and their big business fat-cat friends.

And they are frequently one and the same. It's often opined that special-interest groups have a stranglehold on Washington but the truth is, the biggest and most powerful special-interest group there is is the Washington machine itself. And they have but one overriding objective......keeping their fatasses firmly ensconced in those plush offices that overlook the Potomac. Elections are merely window dressing, just as Roger Daltry warned some forty-seven years ago......

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!

He managed something more difficult ;
From a business man with no political experience and with no party behind him, mister Donald Trump is now the president of your great country.

God bless America
