Thinking about putting a SD JB SH-2 or SH-4 in? Your thoughts? I already have SD sc's for it. I'm a classic rock/hair band type of guy. 8)

I have a Seymour Duncan SH-4 Jeff Beck model in one of my guitars, and love it. It has a nice tone, and high output, but not too much. A nice overall rock guitar item.

hi twisty571,
Do your homework on that pickup!
There is a post u should read here:
http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... hp?t=10061

I have the JB Jr.™ SJBJ-1 in the bridge of my 93 mia strat & I love it..
Almost all songs there are my strat with the JB...

Maybe I'm wrong but I think the SD JB SH-4 pole postion
does not match properly with the string spacing on a strat.

Can anyone else chime in on this for us?

The jazz blues is a very nice tone ive got it in my jackson rhodes and it provides good classic rock sounds ala canned acdc or even gorham era thin lizzy. My only critisism of it in the rhodes is that it can be too bass heavy if your strings aren't in tip top condition. That could just be the guitar though, its a metal guitar not a tone machine. If your going to get one i seem to remember someone here having a problem with string spacing of their strat to the polepieces of the jb. If i remember correctly they should have got the bladed trembucker model instead. My recollection is hazy at best so do your homework and check up

http://www.imuso.co.uk/ProductDetail.asp?StockCode=AC00319

that would be my best guess to avoid the polepiece issue.

I did more reading so I passed on that after reading more. With the ratings on the JB full HB it would be a trebly pup, either model JB & SD Duncan says to that itshould be put in mahogany or heavy style guitars. The JB jr looks like the T is toned down a bit since it is a SC made to fit a strat. http://www.seymourduncan.com/comparetones
I did buy a new HB it is a DiMarzio Fred f-space (Satch's favorite b-hb) & the SC's are a SD Alnico II Pro in the neck & SD Custom in mid. It will be done in a week or less with a full set up/innotation etc. I can't wait :) http://www.dimarzio.com/site/#/pickups/
Unfortunately I'm not the greatest player yet. Got back into it last Dec. when a guy owed me some money & gave me his 96' Squier Strat for it but I played it unplugged for a month and decided WTF! Since then I have swapped a couple guitars and amps just trying things out & learning on my own. I also got my son into playing & we start lessons in 2 weeks. I took lessons for 2 years 20 years ago but after that I quit & am now back

Current gear:
98' Fender MIM burst Fat Strat (in the shop)

96' Ibanez MIK RX240 (Transparent Turquiose w/maple body HSS/DiMarzio HB /Grovers/complete copper sheilded) needs new SC's(rusty) & rusty screws and a cleaning but inside looks great, who ever pawned it put some cash into it but didn't finish. $100 :P New same as a MIM Strat. Think Korean made RG with a maple body & a slightly thinner, wider fretboard & TZ30 trem(2pt Strat style). They only made it 1 year,no idea why if I find another in nice shape I will buy it.

Digitech Bad Monkey
Behr. EQ700
Digitech RP100A
Epi Valve Jr. head with a 4x8 cab

Gear gone:
96' Squier Standard Strat (elect. gave out)
Epiphone Galaxie tube 25 combo(nice but to loud, traded for my head & cab)
Epiphone 62' RI SG G-400 (didn't like the neck)
Hagstrom F-200 (miss this 1)

my son until I see he is serious:
JT S/H Tele Dlx
Digitech RP100A
Kustom 12 Gauge

I want a Fender combo & attenuator next
I saw a local guy playing last week on a White Lightning and it was heaven!
Gas is a mofo!

ok that went a little long and over the top.
