I saw a great show the other night. I saw Joe Cocker and the Steve Miller Band. If there ever was an unsung Strat player, it is Stevie Guitar Miller. He played 6 different Strats, and a Gibson Flying V and Coral electric sitar. He rips on the Strat, and is never given his due. I just loved seeing him live after being a big fan since his Space Cowboy days. That guy can still rip!!! He is one player who should have a signature model Strat. Just a thought.....

I've been listening to a lot of Steve Miller recently.

Would his signature strat be a left-handed model strung up righty?

All the Strats he played were righty. It was a nice night to listen to the Strat played well.

I saw him in Atlanta years ago at a festival. Great show. He really knows how to play to a crowd as well.

I've always liked Steve Miller's playing, writing and vocals. He was also a pretty good producer. "Rock'n Me", "Take the Money and Run", "Jet Airliner" and "Serenade" are tunes that I've occasionally played since they were first released.

AttentionTrivia Buffs:

Les Paul is Steve Miller's mentor. Treat yourselves to a copy of the recent CD "Les Paul and Friends". There's a bit of Steve Miller in there the public has never heard before. Read the liner notes. You're in for a treat.

Doc

I had to take a break from "Fly Like an Eagle" a few years back. I was working in downtown Austin at the time, and Lance Armstrong had won his last or 2nd-to-last Tour de France, and threw a big party there in front of the Capitol building. Not even a block from my window, Steve Miller and his band practiced Fly Like an Eagle, and then again, and then again, and then again...

I ended up with a splitting headache and was just generally annoyed. For a year or two after, I started feeling that headache whenever it came on the radio.

Luckily, that didn't last forever 8)

I've heard him called Stevie "Guitar" Miller, but all I have of his is Brave New World and the guitar on that album is just OK, especially for that time period. Never really heard him let loose.

I'm pretty tired of that song too. But I'd gladly listen to just about anything else from his extensive catalog!

I understand that he's got a new DVD out, of a recent live show.
Here's a promo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp_5ryd1sDM

I've heard some tapes from recent shows and they were quite entertaining, so this DVD could be good. There's a lot of Steve on YouTube too.[/url]
