There is a book on the custom shop, with lots of photos of custom guitars and their build history.
http://www.amazon.com/Fender-Custom-Gal ... 494&sr=8-1

I found a copy at the library and read through it. My take on it was that there was not one single custom shop guitar in that book that I would trade my American Standard for.

Yeah, I've seen it advertised. Haven't got round to picking it up yet - but my birthday is getting nearer. I'll start surreptitiously mentioning it round the breakfast table and see if it gets added to the list.

But it's a long list...

Just remember the spell check! I'm sure you'll enjoy the book.

Doc

Er... huh? I'm missing something blindingly obvious here, I know, but you are going to have to help me out.

My spelling's wrong, is it? My mother was officially dyslexic: I just can't spill. And if there is a way to get the spell checker to work inside this little posting box I'd love to know it - it would save me much misery!

Or am I missing something else entirely: point out what I can't see, would you, Doc?

Befuddled - C

I'm thinking he might mean you would not want to spell the book's title the way the original poster did ... if you want to get the right book, at least.

Ah! Was that it? Honestly, my spelling is so bad I didn't even notice it. Well, if that is what the Doc was getting at then I now feel less befuddled - but just as silly.

Anyway. Following this thread, guess what I'm looking at in the online store...

Cheers - C

The book is on my list of things to buy . . . but I'll probably look for it at Amazon.

I'd like to compare that book to Duchossoir's Strat book. Unfortunately, I don't have the latest edition of Duchossoir's book, so I ought to check that out first.
