Hello! Could someone tell me, outside of custom shop or premium signature models like the EJ, which strat has the thickest neck? Prefer the U profile, but a soft V would also work.
Is there any standard current catalogue offering or past model year I should search for?
Currently playing a 2005 American Standard, but my big hands sang something meatier. Not many music shops with decent inventory for me to spend some hands on time in my neck of the woods.
Thanks

Shawn

Those are the ones I know of.
None of those really qualify as baseball bats if that's what you're looking for.
They're just chunkier than a modern C shape.
If you really want something big and beefy you'll have to go the CS route.

There are a few G&L Legacy models with big necks.
Just throwing that out there.

Thank you both for the feedback. I understand that the Player Deluxe Strat has a 12" radius, so I'll keep my eye out for your suggestions and one of those as well!

The radius does not correlate to fretboard width nor to the neck profile.

The American Vintage '56 has a "thick soft V" shaped neck. It's pricey.

The Classic Series '70s has a U shaped neck. Much more affordable.

Each of these is pretty hefty.

This is a 3-bolt neck with the micro-tilt adjustment screw. A qualified luthier should be consulted before installing it on a 4-screw body.
