Ok I've added more photos.

Where are the photos ?
You don't check with Preview button to see if photos are there.

Ceramic pickups and even 5 ways switch may be very cheap parts use in low budget guitar.
Without A/B test, most guitar sound good.

The body is almost certainly not MIJ/CIJ/MIK/MIC. The reason is the date stamp and handwritten date, both of which are in the US/MX month-first format. The rest of the world writes the date first when the month is in letters.

However, I would not bet on the neck being original to the body.

Wow that's a really good observation it didn't cross my mind at all. Thanks for that.

I agree could be different parts ... one more thing I noticed it has the “swimming pool” route in the body again common till late 80s.

Not sure is it common to have 2 date stamps and what the other body stamps mean exactly ... to me this almost indicates that maybe there was a neck adjustment/modification so that body was re-fitted or re-adjusted on a second date? I actually found almost identical neck imprint and non-matching body on another forum it's quite interesting...

Also regards to photos when I say I added more photos I mean to the same link / gdrive at the beginning of this topic. Thanks again/

Hey thanks for the pics .. we are getting there slowly.
The made in usa neck stamps you mention are on the I series documented by fender yours has a V and no serial on the headstock so something amiss.
Does the swimming pool route have a notch like squiers or a full pool like american std? Pics? :D

Hey thanks, sorry i don't have pics but it's a full pool and seems to have an additional round hole under the pool.

sort of like this http://pages.uoregon.edu/jlund/guitar%2 ... 030559.JPG

And on the other hand, as far as I know, there are no US made Fenders which have the trem cover middle screw holes level.

@FilipFS; the pot/switch pics weren't yet visible on G-Drive on my previous look. Still can't read the logo on the switch (never seen a switch like that before; was it soldered on the black side..?), and the pots read B500K, the rest is blurred.
Quick edit: Based on the swimming pool routing (without a notch), the body can't be from a MIA Squier, either (a possibility I pondered for a while).

Thanks ... still oddball but with that extra hole like the pic maybe mim. They usually had a larger hole in the neck cavity rather than the small one you have which made me think squier. :D

The hole below the pickup routing is a CNC holding point.
There should be another one in the neck pocket.

Yeah and depending on what size and how many can determine the point of origin.....
Did you run that v serial past fender at consumerrelations@fender.com ?
Who knows what may or may not turn up :D

You obviously didn't ask nicely enough. They have always been back to me within a couple of days.

+1

They're usually pretty timely about such matters.

I got a reply in the end after few short messages ... to sum it up

"That serial number is associated with a Jaguar in Candy Apple Red from 1997. From what I can see I don't see anything that screams unauthentic. You might get with Fender Japan to see if they might have more info."

I tried to contact Japan but no reply so far.
