I bought a mexican strat at christmas time, i have now started find that on the 12th fret of the high E string, it is a semitone flat. I was wandering if anyone else is experiencing the same problems and how i would fix it?

U need to get your intonation corrected on that string.
Probably just a saddle adjustment would do the trick.
Maybe u need a good tech to do a setup for you.

your intonation is off
if you dont know how to fix that i reccomend that you get a set up done on the guitar

you can read here how to do it: http://www.fender.com/support/stratocaster.php

Move that saddle forward until true. You may have to adjust height afterwards.

You have to intonate your guitar.
If you look at the bridge you'll see six adjustable thingys, those are the saddles. The high E-string saddle om your mexican should be moved towards the neck.
This is easiest accomplished with a tuning device. First, tune the string exactly to an E. Then take an E one octave higher, at the 12th fret. The tuner now shows something else than an exact E, like D#.
Adjust the saddle by turning the screw clockwise. tune the e-string again and repeat the procedure until the tuner shows E on both loose string and at the 12th fret.

Then you should intonate the other five strings.
