I'm not a user of the Strat tone controls. It's a big Yes on the volume, but No on tone --- I leave 'em on 10.

I switch between the pickups a lot. That and where you pick can change the tone a lot.

I have built a guitar with no tone controls.

I voted "No" because I rarely touch them on my Strats and Tele.

My Powerhouse Strat has the 12dB boost where the 2nd tone control would be. Oddly, that's the one I use the tone control on. Sometimes the tone needs a little brightening.

over 75% of us do use tone controls..been playing 40 years and :wink: this old dog likes the tricks he learned along the way and wouldn't be without 'em

Rlolling the tone is something many of us do and fits in nicely as an effect without a pedal. Carlos Santana is famous for this.

I agree, rolling it off is nicely. Especially if you play different styles. You can't play good, mellow jazz with a super bright tone. (well, you CAN, but....)

You need a more rolled off, mellow tone for that.

I hate to HAVE to use pedals for anything. I'd rather get some different tones directly from the guitar or amp.

I voted no but I will say there is one execption and one execption only I will do it when I am playing some carlos santana stuff but 98% of the time I do not.
