:D Hello, This is my first time here because I just bought my first strat yesterday. I have been a 'Gibson Guy' for the last 40+ years and have 4 of them. I like what I feel so far. Any tips I need? I got an American Standard Strat/Sunburst/Maple neck. Thanks! :D

Tips? Sure. Do you do your own set ups on your Gibsons?

Did you get the "manual" with your new strat? If not, you can download one from this Fender site. Read it over a few times. The unique part is getting and keeping your trem in balance and intonation.

Have fun.

Hello Firebird111owner,

Firstly welcome to this forum.

I like to use fender bullets on my
strats as they fit most precisely
in the tremolo block.

I use 11's and 10's

mostly 250's sometimes 150's

Best of luck with your new guitar.

Cheers.

Thanks for the welcome! I appreciate the help. I don't do much with my own guitars except intonate them. I have a good tech I trust with all of my vintage guitars. I tried to post a pic, but no luck. I'll keep trying.

Having a good tech is priceless.

If you float your tremolo, you'll find that the entire system is in a delicate balance: truss rod, string height, float height, string gauge, and intonation.

When you start changing one thing, you have to adjust them all :!:
