What kind of shock are you talking about? Like a static type of shock or something.

Usually things like this always end up being a ground problem. You should check it all again very thoroughly. You might even need to add some shielding to your guitar.

You might want to check the wiring on your amp as well. IT may be sending the shock through that way.

It is most likely a ground problem. Although, like the person above me said, it is very unlikely for the shock coming from your amp, but I don't have any idea. Try another amp or check out the wiring a little more and see what happens.

Make sure your power is not a problem. A hardware store can sell you a outlet tester for 5 bucks that will alert you to faulty wiring, ground etc. 5 bucks can save your life!

Sounds like a polarity problem to me. Some amplifiers still have a reversable polarity power switch. If thats the case you can just switch to a different "on" position when you turn your amp om. Grounding issues can be hard to overcome when you set up on a cement floor also. If you're in a basement or garage with bare cement floors you may be able to overcome the problem with a carpet remnant to set yoursefl and your amplifier on.
