My wife's MIM Standard Strat has but one string tree for the B and E strings and its less than 1/8" off the face of the headstock. Has anyone installed additional string trees on a MIM Strat? If so, what kind? (Fender-type, roller, graphite, etc.). Also, what height and distance from the nut?

Thanks for the help.

i raise the string trees on my strats so they are just keeping the string slightly pulled down (between 3&4mm) so its near straight whilst still running the string into the tuning peg correctly. Anything else i've found interferes with tuning and the trem returning to pitch. What i do is get a longer screw a section of plastic pipe about 5mm wide. remove the screw place the new longer screw through the tree head and then through the plastic pipe before refitting the tree to the guitar head. mine sits at 7.5mm off the headstock on my mim and 9mm on my mia. Ive found this to be one of the most crucial parts of getting my guitars tuning stable.
