The Fender website describes the tone controls on the American Professional Stratocaster as Tone 1. (Neck Pickup), Tone 2. (Bridge and Middle Pickups) and on the Left-Hand model as Tone 1. (Neck/Middle Pickups), Tone 2. (Bridge Pickup) .
Is there a mistake here? If so, I would like to know the actual configuration.

It is a typo that they haven't fixed on the left-handed model's spec page. When the pdfs of Fender's advance materials were first leaked last month that is how the right-handed model's specs read (tone 1 for the neck/middle; tone 2 for the bridge). However, from actually playing an American Pro SSS model last weekend I can tell you the right-handed version's spec page is correct - tone 1 for the neck pickup and tone 2 for the middle/bridge pickups.

Per the service manual for HSS model it is supposed to have tone 1 for the neck/middle pickups (the 2 single coils) and tone 2 for the bridge humbucker by itself. I suspect someone carried that spec forward to the right and left handed SSS models and they have only fixed the right-handed model's spec page.
