Well, looks like I wore out my welcome here

That's not the case.
Just because you don't elicit a response doesn't mean that you're not welcome - take it as nobody has anything constructive to add.
You asked a question about aesthetics - it's all subjective, and there are plenty of threads in this forum where it gets pretty inane.

The bit in the thread about the roller nut is useful to me - I haven't had a problem with losing any bits, but if any fall off or break then I'll remember what was said.

I still can't decide. Have to say, I wish there was an antique white one so guess I'll go with mint green.

I pulled the original scratchplate and pickups on my Am Deluxe HSS because I eventually decided that I didn't particularly like the bridge humbucker (it's a bit lacking in character), and didn't really use or want all the switching options.
So I ordered up and fitted a replacement fully loaded scratchplate - it has the Hot Noiseless SSS set, and basic Strat wiring.
The colour was the same tortoiseshell as the original, because I happen to like it.

If I were to change the scratchplate for a different colour then I'd consider something like Black Pearl.
It's not a colour that I'd normally pick, but I reckon that it would work quite well with the Olympic Pearl of the guitar's body.

Just wanted to say SUCCESS! The Emerson kit is a true successor to the rats nest! Looks great, sounds great. Really surprised about the bass improvement.

And the continuing saga is now complete (other than I'll have the frets honed/crowned in a couple of months)

Man, it just came out perfect. Looks, sound, feel, I'm glad I persevered.
