Hello, first time poster.

My strat has a little spring that sits inside the guitar, under the screw of the tremolo arm. I lost it twice, any tips for not losing it?

It's a later 90's American Standard

Hi ,
I had problems with that too.Now everytime i stop playing and take off the tremolo arm, i put over the hole and under the first string (high E) saddle my plectrum(pick) so:
1.Keep tremolo inside
2.Never loose my pick again !!!

I've got a 2008 Am.Std.Strat , and works in my bridge.Hope it works in yours, too.Greetings from Greece... Keep on rockin' my friend...

that trem spring isn't good for the trem block or arm it puts too much presure on the first thread of the arm and socket and leads to the thread being stripped. Detail here -

click strat parts and details for a detailed description.

Another useful hint to help you not lose the trem-hole-spring is to find a small bolt that has the same thread pattern as the trem bar.

After unscrewing the trem bar, screw in the small bolt and you will not lose the spring. Keep the bolt in your case.

Hello Jinx2008,

I put a piece of tape
or a sticker over the hole,

But that pick idea from
Petros_Antoniou is a winner. :D

All said and done I loose them anyway.

Cheers.

Wow! The funny part is I had a Yngwie Malmsteen Strat that I just sold on e-bay and it did that all of the time and I couldn't figure out why. Now I own a MIM limited Strat and it NEVER happens with that one so I just contributed it to the Yngwie one being "messed up." Guess I was wrong again...damn  ! But in all honesty, that scalloped fretboard caused absolutely NO sustain and a mediocore chording sound without the 12+ pedals that Yngwie uses. He used to profess about not using pedals, but I still live it to this day... :D
