Hello S1lv3rw0lf,

Get on over to a music store and play
a couple then you'll know if you should
want one.

I like em.

Cheers.

It's all about how it feels to you personally. Some guys love the new MIA's and others, like myself, wouldn't waste the $$ on the '08 models (I like the older models) =]

Best way to find the one for you is to walk into a music shop and play everything there. Then, go to another music shop and repeat.

I've owned old and new strats. IMO the '08 is money well spent (not wasted). Best strat ever IMO. Check one out. It also comes with the best case ever (if that matters to you).

I just got an 08 and love it. Only complaint is the pickups could be a little better. Though that can easily be fixed with a swap. The case is great. Agree with the others though, go out and play everything you can get your hands on.

The new 2008 American standard strats are definately worth the $$ in my opinion.
I am particular to the sienna sunburst hss with the ash body & no S-1 switching. (i have S-1 Switching on my other strat).
I am still on the fence about the pickups, but I will know for sure in time.
(Tex Mex™ single-coil pickups and Diamondback™ humbucker)

i personaly struggle with the 22 fret models dare i say they feel too gibson like to me, just my opinion though its not important, the specs look good. In my experience fender rarely build the same guitar twice and its no bad thing one mans duffer is another mans jem, so play as many as you can get your hands on. Eventualy you will find one that feels right to you, everything else after that is changable depending on what you do or dont like about it.
