I`ve got 2 vintage guitars but my new American Strat is awesome. I have a hard time putting it down.

I know what you mean..that new feeling still hasn't worn off for me yet either. I think I understand why Jimmi Hendrix used to sleep with his. I hate to put mine away too. Now if I could play 1,00th as well I'd definetley sleep with it too.

Keep practicing cause that`s the only way to get better. I play on average of 2 - 4 hours a day trying to get back what I had years ago. I stopped playing for decades due to raising a family and jobs. Now I`m sorry but I guess there`s reasons why we do things. But playing the Strat is a pleasure and if theres any one guitar to build your skills on it would be the Strat. I don`t know about how other people feel but that`s just in my opinion. Funny how a good part of the professional recoding artists choose it also so there has to be a reason why.

I picked up one recently at Guitar Center for $99.00. I believe it's the same case, bomb proof.

You guys have me salivating for the new '08 Am Std so since I've got no takers on my offer to sell my two kids I'll guess I'll just have to earn the purchase money the honest way. But I will have one within the next year or so and I think it will be the 3 color sunburst with maple fb (or the olympic white, or the candy cola, etc.). :D

I believe that the MIM strats are the best starter guitars in the world. If someone wants to learn to play an electric guitar than that's a great way for them to start. Once you becomea regular player (one that's decided he loves playing electric and want ti move uo then an American made strat would be an Excellent upgrade. It is better quality, better feel, better pickups just an all around better guitar. You can't go wrong by starting with a MIM strat it's a great way to start but the American is a quality proffesional instument and the most copied guitar in the world it is a serios step up for the aspiring musician who wants a quality instrument that will last them a lifetime. Good Luck!
