If you mean between the MIM deluxe players and Roadhouse I choose Roadhouse. It's only offered in maple neck but that's what I like anyway. I like Alder body, rounder radius and PUs better, too bad 3 tone sunburst not available. And according to current price list I'd save $75.

I have played both & I also say Roadhouse All day long!!
In fact I suggest this color:

Besides the fact that the Roadhouse played better, felt better, & sounded better; it is also a newer release(10/2007). Although it would be nice if they made the Roadhouse available with a rosewood fret board.

The neck on that deluxe players strat is a 12 inch radius (meaning it is a flatter fret board compared to the slightly rounder fret board on the roadhouse (9.5 inch radius). Whats that mean? It means it feels different.
They say the flatter fret board is better foir getting super low action with "fretting out" when "overbending" a note.

The texas special pickups that come on that Roadhouse imho are far better than the 3 Vintage Noiseless™ Strat Pickups on the deluxe.
I love texas specials! My older brother has them in his SRV sig strat.

Another factor for me I don't like Gold hardware on my strat... lol
The roadhouse gave me "the fever" for a new strat when I played it.
Funny thing is that I ended up buying two new american strats! lol
It is likely I will put Texas specials in my Amer standard.
GET A ROADHOUSE! :)

The reason i bought my strat as a deluxe instead of a roadhouse was because i liked the pickups better on the deluxe, i liked the gold hardware and the overall feel and paint job, i especially like the neck because i play a lot of fast shredding and my hands are small so the neck was perfect.

I have TX Specials in my MIA and they kick $@!. I now have .12 gauges on that strat, and coupled with the TX pups, the tone I get is amazing.

i would recomend the Roadhouse , IMHO it is head and shoulders above the noiseless pickups in the deluxe. I personnaly found the noiseless pickups lifeless and bland..but that's just my opinion. I have an American Deluxe Ash strat with the SCN pickups and they are 100% different and give you fantastic tone. I have heard a roadhouse and was impressed with the pickups but didn't care for the bridge pickup.I'd slap a hotrails in there.

eeek i think i know what you mean. i installed some in my squire yesterday and have found them to sound stiff if not alittle raspy. Dont laugh its not like any other squire infact it plays better than my 57hr. I initialy thought it could of been the body and poly finish but after consideration im not so sure.

Yes, they came out back in the '90s, but they were American made.

Oh, yeah, I pick the Roadhouse, too.
